NYC MasterClass June 2026

6/25/26 10am-1pm

A small-room AdlerImprov masterclass for actors who want more freedom, presence, and playable behavior on camera. We’ll apply games for text, playable adjustments, truthful on-camera behavior, and staying alive under pressure. The focus is practical: how to bring prepared material into the room without losing contact, spontaneity, or the sense that the actor is thinking and discovering in real time.

This class is capped at a small number of actors so everyone works.

ChQ WorkKSH0PS July 2026

Film. Improv. Presence.

This summer at Chautauqua, Rob Adler offers three hands-on workshops for artists, actors, filmmakers, and curious participants who want to work more freely under real creative pressure. Make a short film in five days. Step into Viola Spolin-based improvisation games for play, presence, and humor. Or enter the Presence Gym: a gentle, joyful practice in moving meditation, intuitive awareness, and spontaneous response. Each workshop is practical, physical, and rooted in discovery. The work is not about performing harder. It is about becoming more available to the moment.

LA Intensive August 2026

8/15 & 8/16/26

A two-day AdlerImprov intensive for actors working in film and television.

This intensive is for actors who want their on-camera work to stay alive under pressure: more contact, more freedom, more playable behavior, and less presenting. We’ll work through AdlerImprov games for text, self-tape and audition adjustments, truthful behavior on camera, and the practical problem of staying spontaneous inside prepared material. The work is physical, playful, specific, and actor-centered. The goal is not to look improvised by being loose or casual. The goal is to let the work remain alive enough that the camera can catch real thought, real listening, and real discovery. Email us at rob@adlerimprov.com or call (323) 902-7228

TESTIMONIALS

Rob Adler’s class has given me a new sense of play in my work, as well as an ability to roll with the punches both onstage and on set. Since beginning Rob’s class, I have had the flexibility and confidence to improvise staging while on horseback for a national commercial, and to improvise dialogue while onstage – in ASL Sign Language!”

[AdlerImprov] has freed up my body so much and the exercises teach you to become present and out of your head. Rob Adler challenges you and takes your craft to another level. When I’m feeling nervous or anxious on set, I resort to the exercises and it really helps me, it gets me focused.”
— Stephanie Fantauzzi, recurring on HBO’s Shameless

Through his humor, passion, intelligence and generosity, Rob has a way of getting actors to let go and play.”
